Contact::AboutNational Pesticide Media DatabaseThe National Pesticide Media Database was developed by Virginia Tech Pesticide Programs (VTPP) in 1996. The project was initiated by a grant from the Pesticide Safety Education Program, Cooperative State Research, Extension, and Education Service (CSREES) of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. Initially, photographs were taken by VTPP personnel and digitized into an online database. More recently, images have been donated by other cooperators, including the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Oklahoma State University. The database software runs on the latest version of the Gallery image management system. Gallery is an open-source software application that runs on several types of server platforms, including the Mac OS X server used by VTPP. The database is named "PesticidePics" and offers digital images for use in nonprofit pesticide safety education programs and related uses where the images used will not be resold or represented as the property of the user. These works are the property of the original photographer and have a common-use intellectual property protection as stated here. By clicking on the line above and using the database, you have indicated that you will abide by the terms of use as outlined below and the Creative Commons License protecting the content of this site.
